Donnell, John [Jack] Talbot, 95, at home, April 28, 2014 He had a Master's Degree from Washington University and was a Professor at St Louis Community College for many years. He authored several books and was a world traveler. He loved giving travelogues, political discussions [always taking the opposite side], and was a master of the understatement. He was a "character" with distinctive dress, a wry sense of humor, and interest in obscure subjects. Survived by his wife, Gloria L [Moore] Donnell; their three children: Susan [John] Flanigan, John Talbot[Diane] Donnell ll, and Heather Donnell Starr; 10 grandchildren: John, Elizabeth, Sarah, Michael, and Mary Flanigan; Eric and Aaron Donnell; David, Thomas Starr and Talbot Bussey; and 12 great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be Thursday May 1 at 1:30 pm at the Episcopal Church of St Michael and St George, 6345 Wydown Blvd, Clayton, Mo 63105, with a reception following. Inurnment will be private at Valhalla Mausoleum. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St Louis Zoo.
