Martha [Marti] E. Hughes

April 13, 1925 - February 13, 2021

Marti was survived by her nieces Robyn (Tim) Hearty and Sharon (Dave) Westerholm, her nephew Tim Wilson , great nieces Jill (Tanner) Oliphant and Mariah Hearty, great nephews Rob (Monica) Westerholm and Matt Hearty. Marti received her undergrad degree from MacMurray College and her masters from Wayne State University. She served on many service and charitable boards in St. Louis. She was a long time member and elder at Second Presbyterian Church. She worked as program director and branch executive for the YWCA in several cities before becoming the first female Vice President at the United Way of Greater St. Louis. Her hobbies included photography and travel. She traveled extensively throughout the US, parts of Canada, Russia and China with her longtime friend and roommate, Gladys (Jill) Hill. Frisco, CO was her favorite destination. A memorial service will be held when conditions allow. Memorials to: stl.unitedway.org
