Patricia Slaughter

August 7, 1947 - December 25, 2020

On Christmas morning December 25, 2020, God called home a queen, Patricia Slaughter. Born in Augusta, Arkansas to the union of Cesar and Annie Mae Durley; she is preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters, William Mckinley Durley, David Durley, Napoleon Durley, Abraham Durley, Fannie M. Brown, Mattie M. Peoples, Hemmie Zell Scott, Will Durley, Jr. and Barabara Shettleworth. In the fall of 1964, Pat married William Slaughter in Woodruff, Arkansas; the two then moved to Saint Louis and three children were born to this union. Being born a woman of great work ethic and independence Mrs. Slaughter served for over thirty years as the Supervisor and Head Chef in Dietary at Missouri Baptist Hospital. Her cooking was amazing, from her Cornbread, to her Dressing, to her Candied Yams. Her nourishment was just as warming as her smile. Also, being incredibly competitive, she often got a thrill out of winning at her favorite game "Dominoes" or shouting out correct answers to Wheel of Fortune. She could strategize, trash talk and laugh with the best of them and that joy will forever be treasured for generations. She was a great mom and influential woman especially to her twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren as she was always there to give a hand or some of the most unconventional advice that was always needed and taken to heart. She was greatly adored and appreciated. She Leaves to cherish her loving and everlasting legacy: her brother - Willie Lee Nolan; children - Marilyn "Niecy" Durley, Gail "George" Martin and William "Latonya" Slaughter; six bonus children; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
