Somasekar was born in Chennai, India on October 30, 1971 to Krishnamoorthy and Suseela Paleti. After obtaining his MBA he worked as an Application Consultant in the world of Information Technology. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Carolyn; one daughter, Aishwarya Paleti; three sisters, Geethanjali Paleti, Chandhana Rao Valluri, Vani Paleti; and his parents.
