Ulysses Marshall

Ulysses Marshall was born on January 16, 1927, to the union of James H. Marshall and Hattie Slugger in Brickeys, Arkansas. He was the youngest of five siblings. His parents and all siblings preceded him in death. Ulysses was baptized at an early age in Brickeys at Old Jerusalem Baptist Church. After moving to Saint Louis, Missouri he converted to the Catholic faith. He joined The Alphonsus Rock Catholic Church. Later, he joined All Saints Catholic Church which was closer to home. Ulysses was educated in the Saint Louis Public School System. He volunteered for the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after serving his tour of duty. Ulysses was employed at the V. A. Hospital, Jefferson Barracks, for thirty faithful years. He worked several positions retiring from engineering service. He was a hardworking man who always worked a regular and part-time job. Ulysses was a good man loved by many. His close friends and relatives called him Uncle Joe. Ulysses was married to Pearl who preceded him in death. Ulysses Marshall and Delores Lynch were United in Holy Matrimony on March 14, 2001. Ulysses departed this life on Friday, January 7, 2022, at De Paul Hospital at 6:00 p.m. He will be greatly missed by all that loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Delores Lynch-Marshall; stepson, Anthony (Tony) Lynch; nephew, Florzell Hawkins (Charolette); niece, Marilyn Kaye Hawkins; A very Special cousin, Valerie Dickerson; and a host of great-nephews; great-nieces; cousins; and friends.
