Carolyn C. Eaton

Carolyn Janice Colville Eaton, passed away March 7, 2026, at the age of 96. She is proceeded in death by husband Parker B. Eaton and daughter Cathryn M. Barron (spouse Patrick D. Barron). She is survived by sons Gregory M. Eaton of Lake Saint Louis, MO and Mark D. Eaton (spouse Giovanna R. Eaton) of Wichita, KS. Carolyn was the proud grandmother of Christine Barron Ely of Kansas City, MO; Michelle Barron Gloria (spouse Robert) of Wildwood, NJ; Caroline Eaton Arnsmeyer (spouse Jon Mark) of Kansas City, MO; Heidi Eaton Heathcock (spouse Gavin) of Kansas City, MO; and Abigail Eaton Hickey (spouse Bryan) of Portage Des Sioux, MO. She was also the proud great grandmother of Lincoln Ely, Harry Arnsmeyer and Russ Gloria. Born on November 28, 1929, in Oskaloosa, IA Carolyn attended Drake University in Des Moines where she met Parker. They were married on April1, 1950 and moved to St. Louis, MO. Carolyn was a loving wife and mother, and a devoted grandmother whose life centered on caring for her family. A lifelong member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), she nurtured her family’s faith through her gentle example and steadfast devotion. Her professional and domestic roles reflected her commitment to her family. She served as a secretary at Ladue Chapel and later worked for Ridgeway Advertising. Carolyn was a dedicated volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital and faithfully served as both Deacon and Elder at her church in Bonne Terre, Missouri. She remained actively involved in youth and community programs, including Girl Scouts, where she served as a leader; as a den mother; a Sunday School teacher; and a room mother on numerous occasions. Carolyn took great joy in traveling, spending time at the family farm in Oskaloosa, Iowa, pursuing her love of cross stitching, and maintaining a warm and welcoming home. In her final years, she was cared for with great kindness and compassion by the staff at Friendship Village in Chesterfield, Missouri, for which the family is deeply grateful. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely, the faith she carried so quietly, and the strength she wove into the lives of all who knew her. May her memory continue to be a blessing and may the warmth of her presence remain with her family always. A private service will be held for immediate family.
