Carolyn R. Pohle

Carolyn Pohle, a beloved mother, and grandmother, passed away on March 11, 2024, at her home. Born in St. Louis on March 29, 1939, to Alfred Warren and Irma Earline (Hulsey) Labbee. She married Doyle “Bud” Elmer Pohle in 1957. Carolyn lived a vibrant life filled with cherished memories and passions. After raising her children, she decided to restart her working career at 7UP as an Administrator where she made wonderful friends, she then ventured out and began working for AT & T as a Sr. Stenographer for almost 20 years, showcasing her strong work ethic and dedication throughout her career. Known for her unwavering love for the St. Louis Cardinals, Carolyn's adoration for the team was unrivaled. She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, sharing stories, and creating lasting bonds with her family. Carolyn also had a fondness for gambling and playing video poker, she also enjoyed bowling and writing poetry, where she poured her heart and soul into expressing her thoughts and emotions. Despite not receiving recognition, Carolyn penned the iconic song "Mr. Postman," showcasing her creativity and passion for music. Her artistic talents knew no bounds, touching the hearts of many with her lyrical genius. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bud Pohle; brother Wayne Labbee; and sister, Sharon Miller. Survivors include her daughters: Debbie (Mike) Granada of St. Louis, Missouri, and Michelle Eggering of O’Fallon, Missouri; son, Tim Pohle of St. Peters, Missouri; brothers: John (Mary) Labbee of the Villages, Florida, and Roger (Mary) Labbee of Denton, Texas; sisters: Marilyn Hastings of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Vivian Clark of Byers, Colorado, Glenna Smith of Desoto, Missouri, and Dena Wolfe of St. Ann, Missouri; grandchildren: Kimberly Peacock, Kyle Eggering, Trevor Hill, Brett Hill, Tyler Pohle, Luke Hill, Samantha Datema, Brooke Granada, and Amber Moulton; as well as 14 great-grandchildren. In honor of Carolyn's life, a visitation will be held at Valhalla Chapel of Memories at 7600 St. Charles Rock Road in St. Louis, Missouri, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Habermehl officiating at Valhalla Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Bud.
