Jabari R. Blakemore, born in Saint Louis, MO to the union of Sharon and Randy Blakemore. From the tenderest of ages, Jabari's life was infused with the teachings of Christ, a guiding light that illuminated his path throughout his journey. Jabari’s presence was a beacon of warmth and kindness, capable of brightening even the darkest of rooms. His boundless love and care touched the hearts of all who knew him, offering solace and support in the most trying of times. In adversity, Jabari’s unwavering optimism always found the silver lining, inspiring hope in those around him. From a young age, Jabari’s passion for the arts was evident, particularly in his love for music. A gifted pianist and drummer, he honed his talents to mastery and later shared his expertise as a mentor at Freedom Christian Summer Camp for Youth. He joined the drumline at Hazelwood West High School from 2016-2018 bringing joy to many, his rhythmic beats echoing his vibrant spirit. A humanitarian at heart, Jabari dedicated himself to causes that uplifted others, embodying qualities of optimism, positivity, and bravery. His love for fashion, automobiles, and jazz music, coupled with his musical prowess, radiated joy and inspiration to all fortunate enough to cross his path. An academic achiever, Jabari graduated with distinction from Carnahan School of The Future in 2018. He went on to pursue his passion for the arts at Mississippi State university, where he majored in Fine Arts. During his tenure at MSU, Jabari remained deeply connected to his passions, actively participating in the Mississippi Valley’s Mean Green Band & Drumline. Despite facing the formidable challenge of heart transplant surgery in 2019, Jabari’s courage remained steadfast, a testament to his indomitable spirit. Throughout this journey, Jabari not only maintained an optimistic demeanor but also emerged as a beacon of inspiration for others facing similar trials. His steadfast determination was evident as he persevered in pursuing his dreams and nurturing his passion for the arts. As a public figure, Jabari’s influence transcended boundaries, touching lives through the mediums of music, fashion, and photography. His deep appreciation for creative expression in all its forms made him a true ambassador for the beauty and meaning found within art. Jabari R. Blakemore will forever be remembered as a shining example of love, kindness, and resilience. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he inspired, reminding us to embrace life with passion, purpose, and unwavering courage. Jabar’s memories will forever be cherished by his father, Randy Blakemore; siblings: Kayla and Reyanna Blakemore; grandmother, Sarah Brower; aunts: Leticia Hodge, Rahoomma Duffy, Cheryl Clark, Gwen Clark, Renee Little, Charlotte Bell, Carol Jackson, and Mardell (Troy) Bass; uncles: Wilton Melvin Fortson and Darrell Clark; cousin, Emmanual Hodge; best friend, Juanita Fiddmont; and many more loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Blakemore; grandmother, Mardell White; grandfathers: Wilton Fortson Jr. and Jack Johnson; as well as aunt, Jackie Clark.
