Jacob Malik Merchant

Jacob Malik Merchant was born to Michael and Cherri Merchant on February 26, 2000. His 23-year life span touched so many lives in many ways that all who knew him was left with an indelible impression. Jacob and his brothers Aaron and Isiah grew up with a remarkably close and tight bond that was unbreakable. He had a great love for his family. He would impart the importance of family and the love of family to his son Max. Jacob was known for his handsome "Pretty Boy" looks, his stylish dress, his love of fashion and smelling good. He was jokingly referred to as Cherri's "Middle Eastern" child due to his beautiful skin tone and hair. 2019 would become a year of remarkable and life-altering changes for Jacob: He reconnected with the love of his life and first love Audrianna Black, who became the mother of his only child Max Emilio Merchant. Jacob's father, Michael, and brother Isiah preceded him in death. GOD allowed that tragedy for Jacob's transformation. Those deaths ignited the beginning of Jacob's rebirth. GOD'S loving mercy directed Jacob to the DAP Program that would change the trajectory of his life to the direction and path of JESUS. The darkest time in his life GOD would use to create a renewed Jacob. He left the fall of 2019 and returned spring of 2021 a new creature in CHRIST. He would never be the same after encountering an intimate personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST. Jacob did not speak the same, his countenance had changed, there was a peace that showed he had been spending time with GOD. He would boldly profess he was a "New Jacob" and confessed the time he spent away as a blessing. Jacob was a proud and wonderful father to Max. He loved the• family he and Audrianna had made. He had dreams and aspirations of becoming a truck driver and owning trucks. He wanted to leave Max with a great legacy as he often stated. He had begun that journey by passing the writing test for his CDL license and being accepted into truck driving school, to begin the career he had passionately spoken of in the last year. Jacob has left many who will mourn, remember, cherish and celebrate his life. His son Max; mother Cherri; brothers Michael, Aaron, and Joshua. He also leaves Audrianna, niece Aubree, grandparents and many others who loved him with a great love.
